adult ministries

Adult Discipleship at Hillside is about creating environments that can help each person

discover three key truths that transformed His first followers into world changers.

  1. Discover God's story- along the way Jesus kept revealing truths about Himself and the Father to the disciples.
  2. Discover Your story- the disciples went through many learning experiences that showed them the truth about themselves that ultimately transformed them.
  3. Discover the Merger- after three years with Jesus, the disciples discovered how their lives fit into God's purposes for the world; it was electric!

Ladies Class: Discerning the Voice of God

    Facilitator: Beth Center

    Location: M-14

Become acquainted with the voice that has spoken from a fire and a cloud, with visible signs and an invisible spirit, through a burning bush and burning hearts. Topic Study: Thriving in Babylon

    Facilitator: Don Miceli

    Location: M-13

These are confusing times for many Christians. Traditional Biblical values are not only rejected; it seems as if they're attacked on every front. it's all happened at warp speed, leaving many of us spiritually and culturally disoriented or even fearful, frustrated, and angry. How can we spiritually survive in an increasingly spiritually hostile environment?

Topic Study: Christian History Made Easy

    Facilitator: Tim Peterson

    Location: M-16

This is a 12 session DVD-based study of the most important events in Christian history from the time of the apostles to today. Through dramatic stories, this series brings to life the fascinating people and events that shaped our world. We will cover the early church, monasticism, medieval conflicts, the Protestant Reformation, the Great Awakening, 19th century missions, modernity, and postmodernism. We will examine spiritual lessons we can learn by looking at the past and see how God is still working in His church today.

    Topic Study: Study in Matthew

Facilitators: Dave Neidig & Mike Stebner

    Begins: September 24

    Location: Commons

The Gospel of Matthew uniquely describes "the Kingdom of heaven" with five major discourses by Jesus. This verse-by-verse Bible class provides an understanding of the new covenant God created for Jewish and Gentile believers alike. Many current concerns of our time are addressed through Jesus' teaching and call to discipleship in this Gospel.

You can find a wingman by getting involved in some of the below opportunities this year!

  • Open space

Most of us are pretty good at making time to tell God what we think we need, but it can be harder to find time to slow down and listen for His still, small voice. Open Space is a time we reserve once a month to do just that. A brief time of worship and teaching set the stage and provide guidance for some one-on-one time between you and the Lord. All are welcome regardless of experience
