    John Emmons

    John is passionate about students and desires for them to realize their potential as disciples of Jesus Christ. He believes that students are not the future of the church; they are the church. He enjoys every aspect of student ministry from leading students to Christ and developing them spiritually to just hanging out with them. While not working, John enjoys spending time with his wife Sarah, watching movies, rocking out on guitar, exercising, eating out and playing games of all kinds.

    Tyler Corbitt

    What started as a love for music, quickly turned into a love for using music to bless the church. Tyler began the road to leading worship during his freshman year of college and has been growing his skills in music and leadership through many ministry opportunities including the youth ministry worship program, leading a campus ministry, and even interning at Hillside.

    Becca hnatiuk

    Becca has had a love for teaching and serving since she was young. As a youth, Becca was often found volunteering in kids' ministry at church, working with unified and adaptive sports teams, and working in the children's department at the library. This passion continued in college when she pursued a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. As a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Becca worked in schools and in mental health facilities, using creative means to teach and serve people of all ages. Becca has been volunteering in Hillside's Youth and Children's Ministries departments since the first week she walked in the door 9 years ago! When not working, Becca loves spending time with her husband and kids, baking, spending time outdoors, and visiting the local library.

    Michelle Thomas

    Michelle is passionate about her work with children, is a former school teacher, and has been involved in children's ministry since her teen years. Serving as the Children's Ministry Coordinator for grades 1-5, she is excited to encourage children on their faith journey praying they will seek the Lord and choose to follow Him. In her free time, she enjoys entertaining, travel, theater, music, and enjoys spending time with her husband Anthony and their three teenage daughters, Mallory, Emily, and Macey.

    Diana's goal is to serve the Lord in every area of her life and working at Hillside is an opportunity to do that while getting to know the church family. Diana manages the financial requirements that help Hillside reach its objective. Some of her favorite things to do include spending time with family, reading and challenging her mind to learn new things.

    sarah Lusk

    Sarah is know church-wide for her baking but she is so much more than that. She can usually be found at her desk in the front office or running errands for any number of people on staff. She handles all of the multimedia production and website management at Hillside Chapel. In her free time she loves to bake for her friends and family as well as play board games. She loves to spend time with her husband, Adam, her son and her two dogs, Frank and Charlie.

    Jerry has a passion for seeing God at work in people's lives and discovering how God is at work around the world. He enjoys backpacking, camping, bicycling, hiking, fixing things, traveling, woodworking, driving twisty roads, spending time with his wife, Robin and family.


  • Missionaries in Residence

    Christopher & Amanda edman

    Christopher and Amanda have been involved members at Hillside since 2012 and 2006, respectively, and were married at Hillside in June of 2014 on the hill next to the parsonage where they now live. Prior to returning to Ohio to get married, Amanda was sent out from Hillside to serve as a Missionary Nurse at Bongolo Hospital in Gabon, Africa, and the couple are currently candidates in the process of becoming CMA International Workers as they follow the Lord's leading to return to Gabon upon the completion of Christopher's Ph.D. program (projected fall 2018). In their role as Missionaries in Residence, the Edman's serve on Hillside's Missions Mobilization Team, lead the Open Space and Break Free ministries, lead and host a Life Group, serve on the Worship Team, and work to connect and facilitate community among young adults and young families at Hillside. They are passionate about authentic community, Spirit-lead life, ministry, and worship, and the Biblical call for every Believer to be personally involved in building God's Kingdom!
